Ice fishing help

My son wants me to take him ice fishing this weekend but he he lacks patience. Where can I take him around Bismarck to catch fish the size doesn’t matter as long as we catch something. Also what bait would you use. Thank you for any and all hints you could give me!

Owls pond. Plain small treble with minnows. Single hooks work but you’ll kill a lot.

I am also taking my kid out this weekend to devils lake...we are looking for a hot bite of 29+ inch eyes and 14+ inch perch, she was very certain that we should spend her college fund at the taxidermist

Hit up the game and fish website and look at the lake list. It tells you how abundant and how big the fish are. I would head east of Bismarck and hit up the perch sloughs. Just follow the big groups!
