Then, when the petition was approved she was on television stating that the recall was because she was a woman (protected class card pulled high in the air), which as NOTHING to do with the reason. That just helps fuel the reason to pull her arse from the position. ANY elected person has a duty to vote for their constituents and the position has NOTHING do with with what she (the elected person) believes themselves is right/wrong. This is the main factor on why Heidi Heitkamp was ousted after her Kavanaugh "nay" vote just weeks before the general election.

Im not from that county, but crap like this affects our whole state, and actually our nation. Your reasoning Up Y'oars sounds perfectly logical to me.

Let's just say on any certain type of issue,(not Burleigh county) the constituents voice says 51% for 49 % against, and you, all your friends, co workers, relatives etc... are STRONGLY OPPOSED and are in the minority end (49%). Would you still want the elected official to vote Yay, especially if somehow it affected your livelihood ? There are certainly many hard decisions that affect many people either way on issues. And as always there is NO way to please everyone.

Look at more than a single issue. Kathleen Jones is a friend of sportsmen. We could do worse.

My only conversations with her last year didn't leave me feeling as though she was a friend of sportsmen.

I think this recall is something like the whiny liberals would pull. "I don't like the way she voted on an issue, so I want her out." She was elected into office and should have the opportunity to finish her term. If you don't like the way she votes on certain things, vote her out or run against her in the next election. Things like this set a precedence that any time we don't agree with something a person in office does, then we try to remove them. That's what they tried to do with Trump. Just my opinion FWIW.

Nothing like what the dems tried on Trump this would be a vote of the people not a vote of an opposing political party. She was elected into office to be the voice of the people not to ignore the very people who put her in.

The recall option is put in place to remove an elected official who is not doing the job she was elected to do. You do realize they will need to collect nearly 12,000 signatures so this will not be a select few but 25% of those that voted in the last election. Once on the ballot if the voters want to keep her in or removed the vote will represent that.

People voted him in but the democrat party has never accepted the results and are trying to remove him through a political process not the vote of the people.

IMO these county commissioners who failed to put this issue to a vote, should be recalled! This is exactly why we have this option.
