Yeah not surprised with nothing much in there way other then what one would assume would still be a fair bit of ice. But I suppose that sun is getting strong and melting the super shallow stuff fast.

Was a bit surprised yesterday when I saw a random 3 pack fly just above treetop height over South Bismarck flying Southeast for some reason. Never seen that before without honkers in the same area.

We don't kill enough to matter hardly anyway. I know a guy who hunted 212 area with a reputable guide and they killed 15 in two days with multiple guns. And this isn't a terrible year. They need a bust year or two or three to slow the numbers. A good hatch year I don't think with the best hunting we can kill enough to keep up.

What he said :) I wouldn't doubt there have actually been more people hunting them this year in the Dakotas with all of the college kids out of school, etc.

I think I saw on a NDG&F video recently that the lesser snow goose population is about 15 million birds and growing, despite the fact that the hunter harvest per year is about 1 million.
If they ever do encounter some sort of contagious, fatal, disease it will thin them out fast. I don’t think any other thing will even make a dent.
