Pretty sure the game and fish hand out the Whopper certificate. so what your saying is I can call them say I caught a Whopper and they give it out what would be the point then. When my kids caught their Whoppers I called the game and fish they met me one at tobacco gardens the second was at the casino they verified weight took info and my kids got certificate in the mail a few weeks later.

That was a solid 8+lb fish when it was caught. They lose weight fast. Stress causes them to produce slime and lose water weight. I've seen big walleyes lose a pound in a few hours.

I weighed it 1hr 45mins after I caught it. Kept it in a 5 gallon pail hoping it wouldn't lose weight.20200228_180917.jpg

Im an old wrestler and call Bullshit on a fish losing a pound of slime in an hour! That would be 12.5% of its weight. That would be a 16 oz bottle of slime full. Trust me, that fish didnt lose much if any tenths at all

Usually the person at the scale has a ticket they sign and you're good to go to send it in for a patch. Unless it's something a person wants in a record book the G&F doesn't need to see it.
