That looks pretty neat! Seems like the ice fishing world is always coming up with something new. Faster than most other outdoor products. Could be wrong, I do live in a bubble...

I've been wanting one for a while but I can't justify the price.

I really want to take a look at one in person. Here in SE SD the ice doesn't always get thick enough for ice castles and the black hole would work great. In reality a guy could buy a drop frame, make the poles, and have a canvas company sew something up. If they came with an aluminum frame at that price point it would be a great deal.

$6k is crazy. You can get a 8x12 drop frame from Miltona for $1500. Buy a clam thermal x400 and rig it up with or w/o the sled and you've got yourself a nice rig. Tack on some hole sleeves and you're still just a touch over $3k.

I put together two of them. I bought the drop down frames for 1300.00. Both 6.5 x 12 x 3 ft V. Then took a double flipover house and took it off the sled and made a bracket of both sides of the trailer to hold the frame work. Its the same principal as the Blackhole only I had roughly 2000.00 in it . I put 5 catch covers and one spearing catch cover and could drive over the covers with my 6x6.

The other one I used a 6 x 12 pop up and had tie downs in the corners to hold pop down. Plus you have a nice utility trail to haul your ATV or lawnmower.

My brother-in-law bought on this year. They are really nice, light, and go up and down in a hurry. That being said, they are pricey. If you have a use to be using the trailer in the offseason it can help to justify the cost though.

No I don't, I'm going to build another one this spring. The only thing different is I'm going to put the front flip down ramps like Black hole has on theres.

Unless you have a friend in China, getting tarp material and finding someone to make it is challenge. You can get $1500 into tap that size quick. They are nice setup.
