I cant make myself tear down the old farm buildings and they aren't worth fixing up, My wife would like to see them gone but I think they give the farm some character. Shows what the old timers who settled this land did with their bare hands.

When Grandpa finally got that door nailed together he probably said that ain't going no where.

For the last few years I have decided to harvest the old lumber then I keep saying to myself they aren't eating any hay.

My absolute favorite old building in this area is Coghlan Castle near ST. John.

It's awesome , I was inside and took a good look at it about 40 years ago and it was in good shape except that someone had built a campfire right in the middle of the floor.

This was at a graveyard north of Williston. I guess it may not be that old. But it was still pretty neat. A little creepy maybe too...

What started as a criticism, has now become a fascination! I wish I could sit down and talk to some of the folks that built them.

I agree. Got pictures transferred over to a stick for storage, they "never" get looked at.

Original homestead in the Grassy Butte area. A before and after a complete restoration. The bottom three logs were replaced with logs from trees on the farm area to keep it as original as possible.

Sl good pictures. I've seen that barn .. Is that picture a few years old ? Could it have been taken on the foothills 1 mile west and 3 or 4 miles North of Bottineau a few years ago ? Someone bought that place and built a new house there. Or else it could be east on 43

The info from my camera on iPhoto says that the picture was taken in September, 2009. I'm not sure if I took the pic or if my wife used my camera and took it.
