Has anyone successfully grown them. If so what method. Tried getting them to sprout with the toothpick thing. That was a fail. Tried finding slips locally and that’s a fail. Any suggestions. Thanks

Some potatoes you buy in stores are treated with chemicals to perserve them longer, and keep from sprouting. Ive grown sweet potatoe vines before but they didnt produce, I think we dont have a long enough growing season for them in ND...

I don't think our soil temp/growing season is long enough. Maybe if you did container planting and started them inside they could produce.

I had really good luck with them once. Not consistently though. Sam's club is where I get them now.

They like warm soil so a raised bed of sorts is a good idea.

I've done it once. Got them in sprouts. I think from faulkner's or tractor supply. Put them in a mound and kept grass clippings on them. Ended up with some potatoes but none of them had any real size. I think it was like 2 per plant that you could call a potatoes. Still interesting to try.
