I recently bought a used pickup with leather seats. I've never owned leather before and know I need to oil/condition them from time to time. I was recommended neatsfoot oil but wanted to hear what you guys use.

Thanks for the help.

I have a 2001, 4 door Ford Power Stroke with leather seats that I bought new and have not done anything to them and there isn't crack one in any seat. Less than 200k miles, but still 19 years old.

2004 Caddy Escalade with leather that I had to have the drivers seat re-upholstered last year.

I don't have leather seats but I believe the newer ones (last 20 years or so) have a vinyl coating that doesn't require oil/conditioner. Maybe ask a local dealer.

I would not use neatsfoot oil unless you don’t like the clothes your wearing. Murphy oil soap is the best thing to use. I would buy the gel stuff. Use a small round sponge. Dampen sponge and rub it on the soap then take it to the seats. It cleans and conditions. Just wipe the seats off when done and let dry. I used this stuff on all my leather products when I trained race horses. They would get all muddy and full of nasty ass sweat. Kept my white leather bridals looking like new for years.

I believe you are thinking of "pleather". That would be imitation leather made out of plastic. Decent stuff, but leather conditionings won't do you any good on that stuff.

Never liked leather seats. Have left too much leg meat on them when wearing shorts.;:;rofl

Depends on the Make. I’d be cautious putting any treatments on leather seats. I’ve seen Ford King Ranch leather seats ruined because the treated leather shrank and crushed the seats foam. I’ve been in the seat cover business for 30 years.

Armorall leather wipes used on last 2 trucks and wife's Yukon XL. Not a problem with anything.
