Agreed #guywhoknowsbest,last year after my small town was hit with a tornado,amfam came,jacked all my neighbors around that use them on homes and vehicles,I fared well with farmers ins co...but after several rate hikes I dropped farmers,so far so good with travelers,steady premium

I recently paid off my mortgage, so now it's time for me to pay for insurance directly instead of the bank doing it via escrow.
I looked at the bill and said "holy shit, that's twice what I signed up for 10 years ago".
It seems upon renewal each year, the insurance company has been incrementally (arbitrarily?) increasing my coverage (and therefore my premiums), to a point where I am way over-insured.

Question 1: Is it "normal" for insurance companies to do that?
-- My coverage on the main structure is now 150-200K higher than what I believe it would cost to rebuild it. They increased my coverage 69K from just last year.

Question 2: Can anyone recommend a "good" insurance company?

I bundled my insurance a number of years back and saved a bundle. First with EMC and then they left the state I switched to Auto Owners because they ended less money than EMC was. Liability on boat, snowmobiles and side by side included with home owners policy. I just got my bill (I pay by the month) $198 vehicles (2020 Explorer, 2019 F150, 2007 GT500 Mustang, 27' enclosed trailer, 16' enclosed snowmobile trailer, 12' utility trailer and the boat trailer. $202 for the house and stuff. House about $425,000, 2016 WX2060, 2-2014 ski-doo's, 2017 Polaris General, 30 guns and bows plus all the other things like water back up, freezer). plus 1 million dollar blanket coverage I think that is $169.00 per year.

I agree but since I need it I use USAA.
