Not even close to ready to hang up the waders yet. I have lots of walleye to catch before sitting back until spring.

Maybe just the way the pic looks, shadows or interior of clam, but damn that looks pissy.

That ice sure doesn't look very thick.

I've been chopping holes in water holes for cattle lately, the last two days are the only times I've actually stepped on the ice to chop holes, I sure wouldn't walk across the middle of those water holes let alone go ice fishing yet. North Central part of state.

2 inches of sketchy ice. I guess fish are worth your life. Never knew.

I know that underwater cameras are popular among ice fisherman. Anyone use them on open water from their boat? Thinking about one for a Christmas present but don't do a lot of ice fishing these days. Pre-Corona we spent the winters in Texas.

Deer gun is 16.5 days out of 365. Fishing is 365 out of 365. Strange take on time management if you ask me, but to each their own.
Walleye tastes better and it won’t take much to get a Muley doe. November is when the pig walleyes bite. This wouldn’t be a first for me. Fishing is normally really good this time of the year.

What a difference a few weeks make! Now the question should be...Ice fishing in November or not till December? I'm guessing...based on the next 2 weeks temps forecast...will be well into December before we have good fishable ice! And of course I put the boat in storage last weekend...jeesh.

Sawyer,
Yeah the sloughs are opening back up now. The current forecast shows warmer than average at least through the end of the month.

So with that being said...what is the latest we had to wait for decent fishable ice? This is only my 6th ice fishing season...latest I remember for getting on Audubon or Darling was maybe 3 years ago...think it may have been second weekend in December?
