      Ice house Door

I am in need of a door for an old ice house. The current door (garbage) is 28"x71.5" does anyone have a suggestion on where to find a door or will I be best off building one?

if not too worried about security, i'd buy an interior pre hung door from menards or the like for under $100 and cut the bottom off and fill with spray foam and call it good...  not gonna find an exterior under 80" i believe...

I cut the door/frame of a exterior steel Menards door, the steel is thin and no match for a skill saw. I think i cut the top/rebuilt the door frame.

I would look at a mobile home door, you will find much closer to the size you need, and just have to screw onto ro with pole barn screws,28" width is gonna be tough to find,30 is tough.Might have to make wider.
Cut down steel doors never last, but taking off the top is better, just alot more work, and special order adds 100-150 a cut to the price of a new door.

I believe the RV/ice house doors you see are 26ish” wide. You could always throw a stud in to close the gap to make a narrower door fit.

A 1.5” wide stud to close the gap, shim the door and foam the gap. I’ve built 2 ice houses in the last 2 years.

By a vinyl clad storm door and cut the bottom to fit.
