Truly outstanding. I've known a number of people who didn't stick with it for more than few days and wasted the tag.

Congrats!!
Secondarily, not sure if I and the missus went into the bush alone for 9 days and her with a high powered rifle, that I would have made it out.

I was thinking the same thing! I can almost guarantee that I would be coyote bait after day 5...I guess I never have learned to just keep my mouth shut...:)

Galwhofishes drew an any elk tag. We’ve been patiently working our buns off but have yet to find elk. Have learned a great deal about elk and landowner management - some very good - some pretty bad.

We’ve got some property that many others have shot elk on in past years, hoping to do that ourselves this year. But it’s getting late and when it’s this late we’re on blizzard away from eating tag soup.

Have heard of several opportunities of “private land hunts” for those that want to spend the $, but that rubs us the wrong way. Not sure why, just does. I don’t begrudge those others that have found a way to monetize it. We’ve just never asked for money for access to elk.

Anywho - if you encounter huntable elk in E2 plz message me. I’m getting nervous

Congrats

yes - Randy Newman gutless deal - new to me

but I spilled the guts to get to tenderloins once everything else was off

Gal wants the hide tanned hair on. My mom has one and it’s pretty cool on the wall. That was a PITA retaining full hide on ground.

Did you guys know an elk hide weighs 1500 lb? Pretty sure anyway.

Gutless doing anything but a full length dorsal cut is a HUGE PITA! My buddy wanted to save a moose hide last year to tan. I tried to warn him, but he didn’t understand until he started packing that wet bastard to the lake. Congrats on the nice bull!

Hi

My daughter has a cow tag for E2. She and her husband have spent some time down there with no luck during scouting and hunting. Land owners they have talked to said that the elk haven't come on their land like normal. So far they all have been good to talk too she said. Is there any land owners that I can give her to look up?

I'll PM you if I find elk on ours or neighboring rancher is amenable.

How far is your drive? Can you do short notice?
