For all the headlines surrounding one particular line of service (Refugee Resettlement) few know all the rest LSS does/did throughout the state. Family services, adoption services, counseling, recovery support groups, and senior companion initiatives, to name a few.

I’m familiar with the way senior companion programming helped less able seniors stay independent in their homes by pairing them with local more abled seniors who could give rides (groceries, doctor, etc), help in the house, provide a local person just to talk to - plus, a small stipend was available for those who helped. A small stipend can go a long way for those on fixed incomes.

Its too bad funding dried up. Sign of the times.

No tears shed here. They hijacked the "Lutheran" name and are the product of their own mismanagement.

One program out of all those programs is what caused donations to dry up

Biden will find another way don’t you worry.

- - - Updated - - -

They saw refugees as an income source but dropped the ball and failed to assimilate their wards (no doubt because some cultures refuse to do so).

Just another previously beneficial program perverted to serve a retarded liberal goal and thus ruined. Everything the left touches they ruin.

- - - Updated - - -

they probably got word they’ll all get hired by the feds who won’t hide behind charities anymore

they’ll just do it directly

maybe shouldn’t have built a monster facility along I94 in the Obama black gold rush days.

Yup, tried to build an empire from the Refugee program. A lot of Lutherans cut their giving because of that.

On this mornings KMCY news they said the state is looking into either helping them out or taking over some of their programs. Glad you guys volunteered some of your taxes to help them out. ;:;banghead

The immigration resettlement contract will simply be given to a different organization.

The Catholic Church does it in many communities.

Refugee resettlement....bullshit! goddamn welfare leaches... sucking up our citizens care, puts our vets/seniors in the backseat, hell they cater to illegals under the gise of refugee's,good ridence is right. small communities here in minnesota shut the door on this resettlement bullshit, food banks dried up,schools overwhelmed, health clinic's the same,no more....we're tapped out is the word.

All the programs will be shifted to other organizations, so the refugee resettlement will still be around. It just depends on who will pick it up, as it may be a black eye when the public finds out who. I didn't have a problem with LSS until their two MOST HYPED programs were helping with abortions and the resettlement.

To me, it was their own demise. They expanded to things they had to reason to expand and weren't doing the things they were likely BEST at. Many organizations do that and find themselves in a large bag of poo. WestWolfOne, above, said the Catholic Ministry still does it but it may do it until the radar and doesn't tout their execution of it.

I'm not sad in the least....
