I’m going to be in Lake Havasu City next week. Does anyone know if there are any fishing opportunities this time of year? Any guide recommendations?

The lake holds the world record for sunfish, 5lbs +. The fella who caught it said 2 lbers are common. I believe "Bobkat" still winters down there. A pic on here of his boat covered in mussels a few years ago convinced me not to trailer my boat down there.

Yeah, BobKat is down there absolutely slaying some nice sized striped bass. He has been for several weeks now.

I don't know of any guides (only been there a couple times myself), but there are fishing piers and quite a bit of shore access off the island near London Bridge.

"London Bridge": If that whole deal is not enough to blow your mind you may have to check on your soul.

Never actually fished that far north in AZ. The game and fish has a awesome report section on there sight with i believe links to guides. As Allen said Strippers would be a great opportunity right now. Its a little earlly but you can also get on some huge Crappie. I think it was usually Feb threw April when the were shallow. If your into fly fishing there you could hit the Colorado river for trout.

Lucky sluggo,on my bucket list, however I'm told the area is over run with blue heads from all over the country this time of year,as stated giant sunfish strippers and a healthy population of large mouth bass.

At your age, if you go to the strippers and then wake up with the (candy) stripers around, things went downhill during the stripper visit.

A Havasu guide is Chris Blythe 928-486-8371. I have not used him, but he comes highly recommended.

Learned quite a bit about the Striper fishing down here. There are a few nice fishing piers. One is at Site Six and apparently the night bite is best right now. Most fishermen first throw a net to catch some shad for bait. The water temp is 51. I hired Nick Young to take me out last night from 5:30pm to midnight. We threw some artificials but no luck so switched to shad. Caught 3 but missed probably a dozen. It was a fun experience. If I come back down, I will pack a reel and tackle and then buy a rod down here.

Looks like another convert to Toon fishing.

Glad you got on some fish, I have been there three times now and have still yet to wet a line.
