There has been lots of powders coming in stock all week but they sell fast. Midway USA, powder valley, mid south, etc I got lucky and a buddy snagged a 8lb jug of H4350 for me before it sold out , varget, CFE223, BL-C(2), H4831 H380, all of these hit the shelves in stock but they sell out within minutes . For those that use ammo seek its worthless. Now of those powders showed up on ammo seek but were available when I just started the old fashion checking sites.

Superformace was another one that came in

There's still 1/2Dz Norma powders on Powder Valley in burn rates that should be acceptable from 222 through any non-magnums. Basically from H322/IMR3031 up through H4350 type burn rates.

Given the current situation, IMO one of the best things a reloader could do would be to spend $160 on Quickload so you're not dependent upon limited data given by either a manufacturers published load data or their normally very carry parameterd website load data.

Do you use quickloads? I've been thinking about it. I just wasn't sure if it was worth it and what are the costs to update every year? Thanks

I've used QL for 15yrs give or take. I don't do annual updates. I update when a new projectile or powder launches that is of interest to me.

Updates are typically under $20 and again typically, available annually. If you wait long enough that you can no longer update but need a new version then it's $50-$60 which is where I recently found myself. Still, $55 wouldn't buy me 2 new manuals from any major manufacturer.

Great information, and good point on the manuals. Thanks I appreciate it.

Thought about quick loads.
can you spot and predict accuracy nodes??
I usually research a giving load and can make a solid “ guess” based on available internet searches but really think I will spend the money for it.
At this point I’m sitting on 8lbs jugs of pretty much any burn rate with the exception of the H1000ish range.
Here’s the way I look at thing you won’t lose money buying any powder at “ normal” prices. Buy it and decide later is my motto

No. Velocity predictions via Powder charge manipulations are linear in the program. The prediction output related to velocity and bbl length is also linear so no accounting for when you're achieving more or less efficient/complete burn based on bbl length.

In my version there's no accommodations made for different twist rates either. We'll see if the newest version has a function for that when I receive mine.

The 1st and IMO biggest benefit is that you're in no way hampered or pigeon-holed into any one manufacturers data. Let's say you nabbed some Alliant R-17 or R 26 and you want to load it in your 6.5 CreedMoor with a 143ELD-X. We know both willl work, but, there's no data on the Alliant site and I don't want to download the Hornady app. I run a 140gn TSX out of my .270Win. Alliant only shows R-16 data on their site. I'm pretty sure that '17, '19, '22, '23, and '26 are all also good choices. I can run all of that in QL at the click of a mouse. Items there's little-to no data for as well, like heavy .224's from a fast-twist 22-250, swift, 22-243, etc.

Next are the predictions one can cross-reference with Chrono readings as a sanity check on safe powder charges. Customize your seating depth, bbl length, capacity of fired brass, etc.

I'm sure there's more as well. I suspect I use about 10% of what the program is capable of doing. I've probably spent ~$300-$325 in the initial program and updates/upgrades. I suspect I've saved myself at least that much or more plus the space of not having to buy a reloading manual in 15yrs as they're essentially obsolete for me.

I have roughly 420 148 gr bevel based wad cutter 38 caliber. I will never shoot them. Will let them go for 20.00 plus shipping.

Not where I'd like to be
I scored some Reloder 26 yesterday. I haven't received it yet, but I would trade some pound for pound for H1000 (min 2#, max 5#).

I would like to trade new unfired/unprimed Winchester nickel plated 280Rem brass for Remington brand 270Win brass. I have up to 200 pieces I'd trade 1:1.
