Thinking about getting a Zack shack but was wondering what your guys thoughts are on them and if they are as quick and mobile as a skid house

Good luck finding a used one. There may be one or two on Bisman, but guys hang on to them. I've been in my buddies a couple times, I like how they are set up for FISHING first and foremost.

I like mine. Easy to tow....easy to set up. I have a vented heater in mine and very economical to heat. No problem keeping it 70 degrees.

looking at that picture on the bottom, would having the beds be on rollers with several tracks along the side so a person could move things around a bit...

Good idea and I’m sure they work, but it would be nice if they were finished on the inside instead of spray foamed. Don’t like the looks and finish.

https://ambushhuntingblinds.com/ice-houses/. These are sweet but I wish they could have wheels under them. If you fished the same lake it would be ok but would suck to put on a trailer all the time.

We built fold 4F69B06C-FDDB-4445-8148-276BC5E326E6.jpgaway bunks like they came with. They work great and pivot out of the way when you don’t want them out.

Truth here ^^. bought mine 2 yrs ago from an elderly gentleman that was looking to sell since his fishing partner died of cancer. Got it for $4300. it is a fishing outfit. Cute little vented heater.

i had one and it worked really well... easy to move and heat...

downside was i had a 8x16 ice castle a the same time that i had first and was used to...

it was like going from a camper back into a tent...

worked well for fishing for 2 guys and limited equipment...

I use a cot for sleeping and when not in use it goes into vehicle. I have it set up for 110 volt and 12 volt power. outlets for microwave and or airfyer. 12 volts power supplies for vexilars or any other needs. Honda generator powers it up when needed. Nu-way propane heater...no noise and no battery power to heat the house!

If I were to go that direction for simple and light I would go with a ridgeline. Aluminum and better look in my opinion. I have fished out my friends ridgeline and nice setup.

Yeah, they are pricey. They have to make a huge % on them.

congrats on the new rig...

i just built a box across the front end with a flip up top with the throw cushion out of the boat i sat on, and sat the big buddy on the other side... had room for the big buddy, a battery and converter for 110, and a light load of fishing gear inside... whoever came with me usually sat on a stool or lawn chair in the back...

i started out with a sunflower heater on a 20, but went to the big buddy after 2 pretty good scorches on my coveralls... it would take about 20 minuses on high to warm up on a cold day, but then low was fine... and you WILL need a fan moving warm air down or there will be a 50* temp difference from floor to ceiling...

have fun...

I have 2 boat seats mounted on milk crates with hinges. Very portable and with the hinges I can lift the seats and store things inside the milk crate. If I'm fishing outside I just take them outside to sit on.
