At work we shut down our three draglines to conserve power for the grid. I hope the greenies learn something from this before it’s too late but I doubt it. I seen that capital electric is having blackouts in Bismarck now.

The chickens are coming home to roost. And those of us against this huge renewable push will pay for it.

It would be more impactful if this cold snap in TX was instead perched upon the W coats from SanDiego to Seattle.

Texas. More people using more power with no infrastructure upgrades. What could go wrong?

There aren't enough people in OR without power to make any of the urban areas on the W coast take notice.

Wouldn't even have to be below 0, just below freezing for 4-5 days from San Diego to Seattle. Need maybe 25 Million without power for 4-5 days with weather below freezing.

All that's going to happen right now is there will be a bunch of yapping about how Greg Abbott and the people in flyover country don't prepare well.

Even if there were it wouldn’t change any minds. I’m sure the family that leans right is thinking a lot like the comments here and the family that leans left without power is probably blaming Trump. What’s really funny is that you think an event like this could change any minds in LA, Portland, or Seattle at all

Yup, the new Green Deal is a FAIL Look no further than Texas.....smh,.

Serious question. Do you truly believe the "green new deal", which would be a massive block of unachievable, fairytale, feel good BS bills, has passed at the federal level, been implemented at the state level (and in TEXAS of all places), and is already responsible for the aging generators in Texas to trip, derate, or fail to start? Texas has no winterization laws for their power grid like many other states do.
