What is your favorite spring tactic for chasing walleye in the spring?

What do you look forward to as the ice disappears?

Fishing way out west on Sak is something I always get excited for.

Just love shore fishing when they're biting.

Love having a campfire and fishing into the dark. I've had springs where they all came in the dark.

It wont' make any boat dealers happy but you really don't need a boat to catch fish.

Usually jigs/minnows/shallow warmest water I can find. This year think I am gonna try trolling cranks shallow...5 to 10 fow. Few more weeks...might be earliest have had the boat on the water since 2016.

Find a barrier, throw a ShadRap. No idea why this doubled. Anyways, I prefer the original shad color or walleye.

I usually tell my wife I’m working late and fish the evening bite. Just have to be sure you don’t get mud or fish smell on yourself too bad, has worked well for years. You can kinda tell when they start getting pissy, skip a couple days til she calms down. Jig and a minnow.

Bass tactics super shallow in the cattail stubble. Like 6" swim baits on a Carolina rig.

I will take it over a boat 100X = especially when its warm no bugs and sun is hitting just right cold busch light in hand

Yep, dogs running up in the brush getting up pheasants. Just way more relaxing, and the wife likes it much better too.

Waist deep in crystal clear water, right about dusk, working #11 or #13 original floaters so slowly, you'd almost fall asleep.

I don’t think open water gets much better than the hard hit of a walleye when pitching/casting jigs in shallow water in spring. Boat or shore makes no difference for fun factor.
