As long as it creates more government employees, it has to be good, right?

"When bills on hunting trespass were filed in past sessions, landowners stated an issue of concern was the time and expense of placing signs around their property"

This argument for landowners is getting old and pathetic.

How's that?

The G&F had absolutely zero to do with the wording of this bill, it came from the legislature. The G&F can't write bills, they can only give recommendations.
When they testified on the bill they did absolutely nothing to prevent its passage. They did nothing to back sportsman’s concerns on the bill. They did nothing to present a case of concern for reduction in numbers of hunters of this was to pass. They did nothing to tie that to the number of license being sold which directly affects their funding.

We have to come up with a way to send a message to the G&F over this bullshit.

I am seriously asking this question because I don’t know...when we hear about “declining numbers of hunters” is that describing a smaller number of actual people claiming to partake in hunting or a smaller percentage of the population claiming to partake in hunting?

My own personal observations would tell me the actual number of people hunting (at least in ND) has increased steadily - at least as far as bowhunting and waterfowl hunting go. Percentage wise I’m not sure.

However, I think there is a more significant nonresident component that did not used to be there so it definitely may skew my perception of what’s actually occurring.

It also may be that people are shifting where they hunt, and where I used to seldom run into folks I now do much more often.

Out west I don’t see near the people that used to hunt. Not even close. All I’ve heard for the last twenty years is how the number of hunters is declining. I believe that stems from actual numbers from the G&F.

seams like I see less and less hunters every year in my area. Not near what it once was.

We live in central ND, and it appears to me, there are definitely less hunters now than there used to be.
