It's blast-furnace hot. I think it hit 102 here, and the forecast for the next 10 days is 90 and above.

Time to blow up the kiddie pool and drink some Blue Nums until Monday.

I hate the heat! I've lived...mostly...in North Dakota since 1992. I am so climatized to ND weather, people are shocked when they find out I was born in Miami and grew up in Florida. I've experienced horrible heat in South Korea, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman, Arizona, Florida, and Arkansas. For some reason the heat in Egypt seemed to be the worst. The combination of high 90s temp and humidity...especially in the morning was unbearable. Anyway, hot weather sucks!

Cheated out of another spring. March weather was better than April, and then May had freezing cold nights with WIND every day it seemed.

Aaaand Mother Nature jacks the heat in order to attain near normal temps for the year.

My Mom talked about when she a kid in the 30's, it would lightening and thunder but no rain, sounds like that might be the weather tonight

This can't be good timing for the pheasant hatch, not to mention the million acres of soybeans that probably just sprouted...

Pheasant chicks need bugs and morning dew. The heat has brought about a few bugs.

Not around my area. I was a little surprised yesterday when I ran across a grasshopper. Just one, and I only walked a few hundred yards, but it don't look good by Bismarck.

p.s. And there sure as hell is no dew around here this year.

The street at the entrance to our neighborhood in Grand Forks buckled from the heat Saturday

Even about tipped that tree over, wow.

Yeah - something about that entire situation looks a bit ####y as Bubbles would say.

Why would the concrete buckling reach so far over and deeper? Geotextiles?

speaking of... did your tree leaf out yet?

Yes, it finally has about hit the early spring look, but appears it will make it. Every branch/limb has life on it. Thankfully, as replacing a 20+ year old tree is a huge suckfest.
