Got up this morning and looked out my patio doors and thought, "WTF, where's my storage shed?". Looked to the left and there it was in my tree rows. Got no idea when it happened and didn't hear a thing or wake up but it's toast. That thing has stood through 40-70 mph winds many times over the last 7-8 years with no problem so I don't know what kind of wind took it for a ride. Nothing else within 50' of the shed was moved. I happened to look across the lot to my neighbors place and about shit myself. His new little horse shed was flipped on it's back and the tractor he had parked in it was standing on it's hind legs. don't know how the wind stood it up like that and didn't touch his horse trailer 50' away. Must have been some kind of microburst. 293015521_370104765209083_8525343713651932039_n.jpg285773985_10226847456479823_6723079289893013739_n.jpg292427135_367903388762554_688897318589491711_n.jpg285207046_400793925295323_7438358007904394721_n.jpg
Straight line wind. Was able to go around and under the trailer but not the shed or loader bucket. That's my guess anyway. I've seen wind do some weird shit.

The loop at lower right shows what went on all night and continued this morning. Widespread 5-8 in reports (not radar based - measured rain gauges)

I'm not sure but maybe the most I've ever experienced is 4.

8 would be incredible.

Were you in Fargo during the summer of 2000? Had something like 7 inches in 6 hours and there was street flooding all over along with the Dome getting flooded.

I recall that event but thought it was like 3-4 on already saturated ground. Maybe it was that much.

Yes - basement after basement was ruined in many neighborhoods.

looks to me like that shed had the tractor parked smack dab centered on that floor cross brace or whatever it's called. And the floor cross brace rotated the bucket up/over when the wind caught the opening. Pretty lucky - looks like you tip it all back over and you're good to go.

Saw him unload a Bobcat so I drove over to see if I could help. By the time I got there he had hooked a chain on to the loader and pulled it down. He had a big payloader tire laid in front to cushion the fall but of course nothing ever works the way you plan it and the tractor swiveled on a back wheel and came down upside down. Big mess, squashed muffler, crushed steering wheel and seat and fluids leaking all over. I would have gladly run my loader tractor over and helped pull it over straight but I was 5 minutes too late. Oh well, old M's like that aren't worth much anyway. He can probably get another one for less than $1000. Hope the loader didn't get sprung when it hit the ground.
