Minnesota in fall after leaves off same with rabbit was good, squirrel little tough. I have tried a hell of a lot worse wild animals hunting with dad back in days.

My father would trap squirrels in his town lot, and then drown them right in the little cages he would catch them in. Guy really hated squirrels.

I find my hatred more focused on bees in the fall, WTF

Bees are your friend!

In the broke college student days we ate squirrel, cottontail and even muskrat twice. Squirrel is tough meat but fun to hunt.

I ate cottontail once 30+ years ago, and the next day threw up in a fountain in the middle of a crowded restaurant...could be unrelated, but it sticks with me.;)

I ate cottontail 45+ years ago too. Hard time swallowing it ... had cotton mouth!

Small game needs the same care as a deer etc. Groundhogs despite their diet are irredeemable. European half-queers age ungutted birds in barns until fluid drips from beaks. I envy their shotguns and question the origin of AIDS.
