The article does say that some bamboozling may be happening with this deer story

It does say was taken in a high fence area whatever that means

You mean you don't know? We'll it means this deer is the product of select breeding for years and years. It was raised in captivity and fed the best possible feed and supplements for horn growth. It was then sold to someone to shoot it, and posed to look like it was hunted.

I didn't know that the correct terminology was high fence area, I thought it was called a refuge area for animal sanctuary. Then you would be allowed to only kill a selected animal from this area. are these area considered two different things or are they the samething

This guy tried to pull a fast one. He killed the buck on a high fence hunting preserve in Indiana and then registered it as a wild deer kill in Kentucky to try to get in the record books. What a POS and another reason these places are a scourge to the hunting community.

I'm not a hunter, but wouldn't this be akin to raising a pig walleye in a specially outfitted swimming pool in the back yard, fed high-growth feed, carefully bred, and protected from any and all predators, until such a time that it is bigger than the current record? Then throw it in the livewell, drive to the river/lake, hoist it at the ramp, and wait for all the adoration?

Seems to me that the guys who do this, find the trophy more important than the hunt.

I can't imagine having your buds come over to see your new trophy, and more or less having to tell them that you bought it.

Just my two-cents.

and here I thought I was the only one thinking this way. Think of a high fence operation as a diseased brothel.

Edit: The owners are sort of animal pimps.

Ruh-Roh, you probably got a few guys thinking now, where can I dig a hole and put fish in it and cover it so nothing can kill the fish, then raise them until they are records? ;:;rofl

Or like hiring an escort to take to a wedding to show off your new hot girlfriend. And by escort I mean hooker.

Never understood the reason a deer, fish, or whatever game gets killed/caught, and the guy doing the killing/catching feels like some sort of champion, as if they had anything to do with the size of the rack/fish.

Its fun as hell to get a trophy or two here and there, but whoopty fucking doo.

And then to cheat at it and claim hero status...haha

people can go to high fence operations all they want. They have a right to make that decision just like I have the right to make fun of them for it.

Which is cool your not trying to ban them or tell people they are not allowed to go. I make fun of people for wearing masking in cars by them selves all the time but i dont want laws saying they cant.

Your not really saying a high fence has anything to do with conservation are you?
