let's hope this cold and moisture puts an end to the midge coof

i didn’t see it getting that cold any where is there some 20’s happening up there. It needed a really hard freeze to kill them here last year.

agreed - need hard freeze to vanquish them for the season

but every day in the low to mid 30s will save deer

can't imagine midges swarming/biting when it's that cold

Do these midge things bite everything including people? Obviously only effects the deer family.

You hear about it in Antelope die-offs as well but I rarely hear about Mule Deer having trouble w/EHD/Blue-Tongue.

Killing frost or light frost??

Light frost. Didn't touch the damn boxelder bugs in the least. But it's a start. Got the deer moving though. Trail cam's been lit up all day with deer. Things are lookin' good for Logan right now. Hope there's blood on the ground on Saturday when he shows up.

From what I've read, EHD actually can infect all ruminants (cattle, etc). But only the WT deer are known to have such a poor survival of it.

14" of snow should kill EHD midges right? hat's what I've got outside right now. Most dense, moisture packed snow I have ever seen. Trees are taking a beating.
