Where can a guy buy a drop down ice house trailer frame around Fargo? Any custom fabrication shop recommendations? Got a trailer that I might just modify instead depending on prices.

Miltona blacksmith in Miltona MN. I'm picking mine up on Tuesday. If you plan on getting one, get one now, prices keep going up.

Berkon is making ice castles frame now. They are out of Detroit Lakes, MN. You could call them and see if they would sell one behind the scenes to you. I have a Miltona frame, and the only thing that worries me is the axle strength. The crank down design is a bit behind for the time IMO. Ice castle used Miltona for a time as I understand it, and the heavier houses couldn’t handle the axle strengths and began to bow out. Ice castle for fit and finish might not be anything to brag about, but I do believe they have chased frame perfection over the years.

BTW, aluminum is great until it starts cranking because it hardly bends and then you need to find someone to fix on them.

I had this trailer built by a guy in Perham.20211111_105031.jpg

My trailer is 6.5 x 14 with 3 ft V. Rides and pulls real good.

I had a Miltona frame 10 yrs ago. It was 6.5 x 14. Had 2x4 walls with Pro rib tin on outside and Knotty pine 5/16 and sprung the spindles in 2 yrs. The frame was junk with 20 inch stub shafts and really light spindles. I will never buy another one of there frames. Stub shafts should be the full width of the frames and 5500 axles. For the most part ice is smooth add some snow and wind. And look at the top of the house going across the lake.. The top is moving back and forth two to even 4 feet. Lots of Torque on them spindles.
