My wife has refused to go to wally world on 13th for like a year or something like that. I was like "what" no big deal and then i finally had to shop it for my dad on saturday evening. I havent been in the place for since pre covid. The place looked like a warzone. No tylenol in the entire place. Thank god we make beer in this country!

The older i get the less i consume. Lower inventory --- I will chip in and help by spending less

I haven't been able to buy an onion or banana for 3 weeks. I was at the store Saturday evening and basically all the dairy was empty besides some milk. Went to buy chicken breasts and there was nothing - fresh or frozen. Noticed most of the other meat section was also wiped clean.

We have 3 freezers at the house full of mostly meat so not too much stress here. But it's still nice to be eating fresh fruits and vegetables instead of frozen. And we only have sheep/moose/caribou/salmon/halibut so it's nice to eat chicken once every couple weeks. Such is life in 2022 I guess. I'm going to have to make each fishing trip count this year with the price of fuel and how far I travel for sockeye fishing. Same with hunting, depending on what price is when the barge is loaded, 100 LL in the village may be up to $15+/gallon by next fall!

One of my outfitter buddies was telling me that just between increased airplane/boat fuel and insurance costs last year, his annual (June-September) operating cost went up by about $200K. If you've ever wanted to do an expedition hunting or fishing trip, I would recommend locking in a price sooner than later!

I’d be willing to trade you chicken for any of those things in your freezer.

Was at my home away from home on Sunday, no Bud light, Busch light or Mick Ultra on tap (suppliers were out). At that time they had no clue when they would be available.

Went to Walmart to get half and half and they were completely out of all half and half including all creams. Not sure how you run out of that! They were nearly out of sour cream during the holidays too. Crazy times I tell ya.

When making Knoephla soup for the holidays I had to go to Wal-mart, Cashwise, & Dan's supermarket just to get all the ingredients for the soup.

This is why I started a good sized hydroponic garden in early December. So far it’s going amazingly well

I have another fifteen plants of couple kinds of lettuce and spinach to put in yet. You can see about two thirds of the system in the pics. They grow like nuts in this damn thing

we saved them from cwd.jpg
I've been interested in doing that for a few years. How much strain is the extra lights putting on the power bill?

I'm glad we've had good luck deer hunting the last couple years. Ate up all of last hears and didnt get a tag this year but thankfully have friends that deer hunt and like to gift meat. Beef prices are crazy. Glad we have a calves to feed that should be at butcher weight by July. At this rate might be better of home raising and hunting all the meat.
