So glad I was born when I was.

Nope!! I don't see this metaverse or a virtual reality anything putting food on my families table, heating my house in the dead of winter, or fixing my car when it breaks. I'll stick to reality Thank You!

Metaverse will be the new norm in the near future. My boy was talking about this during Christmas break and it was the first I'd heard of it, today I noticed Walmart is gearing up for it.

Thanks for the educational watch. I've been aware of the metaverse but haven't had it explained so I can understand it like this.....your video did that for me.

Not sure how I feel about it. Initially scared for humanity is my first instinct. There are people who will take this to the Nth degree and almost solely exist in the metaverse. However, there may be a place for it - time will tell.

I will say I don't trust Zuckerburg or the companies listed in the article about Walmart - likely don't have anything other than profit on the mind.

Thanks Davey!

So what you're telling me is that in the future people are going to spend their time online in a place with like-minded people hiding behind anonymous names and avatars? Interesting concept.

Most people have been living in a type of metaverse for over a decade now. We are just currently in a different stage. We all participate in a world where people with similar interests gather to virtually hang out. Obviously the way the metaverse is discussed, it's several steps further along than where we are today, but forums such as this are leaps and bound of where we were a couple decades ago when the metaverse was simply e-mail or general chat room.

I think Elon Musk did a good job in putting it all into perspective. He says that by definition people are already cyborgs simply by the way they do everything online, just that our medium is inefficient (phones and computers). It has evolved to things like smart tvs, smart fridges, smart homes, Alexa, etc where people can get everything on demand by voice or by the device observing behavior. The next step is humans with an oculus strapped to their face and having body sensors - "the metaverse" as it's advertised. And eventually it will evolve into some sort of neurolink. I don't plan on participating, but I'm sure all the guys on here 20 years older than me would've said the same thing about online forums when they were in their 30s. I can almost hear all the "If I want to talk about hunting and fishing I'll go down to Cenex and not to a computer."

So personally I don't think its going anywhere, simply because we've been living in it for close to two decades. So I will continue to cash in on it financially. It will be a sweet day when I turn all this digital land into hunting land!

I wholeheartedly agree. However, if you think pornography was prevalent when we were kids, look around now. A lot of people like the scent and touch of a woman, but a lot of people find it easier to watch a screen than put up with a real one.

For the record, I'm married to a real live woman. She ain't perfect. She likes to eat sunflower seeds when she fishes, but she makes a mean sammich.

Im against the metaverse for mankind sake.... I do make money off of it. Buy/Sell digital land, NFT, tokens. Its not going anywhere. So... do we support it and be early adopters? Take advantage of opportunity??
Personally, what I find funny. My kids hunt and fish with me, yet I have more interest right now then they do in metaverse. My angle is from investing point of view.
I want to hear peoples views.
I refuse to invest in US stocks until a reset occurs. I have too much already in the market that needs to be set on the sideline. Trying to bye things that pay me to own them. Can argue, precious metals, land, rental properties..etc Metaverse has been working so far. Wallyworld, Google, Amazon are coming to take it all.

The oculus is pretty amazing. Spent more time talking with a friend over golf or bowling on that thing than we ever would have without it. It's mind blowing the first time you strap on the headset. Definitely worth the $300, and can be enjoyed by almost all ages. Even some fishing games if you don't get enough in reality.

Me. I have a several pieces of digital land across multiple metaverse platforms. And I have a PILE of NFTs. I typically try to get my initial investments out within a month. Typically buy 2-3 of the same NFT when they release, wait a few days for them to 2-3x and sell one to break even. Then let the other two ride risk free and see what happens. So my pile of "land" and nfts is worth more than an anti-technology hillbilly like myself could ever imagine and I currently have very little of my original investment $$ into it.

Digital land is a game world that can be used for meetings or purchasing goods. Online shopping, coffee with the boyz, zoom meetings with an avatar. Without leaving the house. Not for everyone. For some humans its a release from real life. Let the banter start...
Owning digital land next to other "popular" digital land can be a form of advertisement. Free to put up a sign to get your name out or play a game. You can have an economy within the verse.

No banter from me one way or the other, It's interesting to look at it from all angles. It seems like it can be used as a corruption tool for those people who choose to use it that way. FWIW I think Internet safety should be a mandatory class for kids just like hunter safety.

If you think 'merica is full of fat, lazy, useless people now...

Do you post metaverse hunting land with signs or go through the game and fish?

WTF are we doing people...

Calm down. I'm saying I'm going to sell my pile of digital land and NFTs in about 5-10 years for more money than I will make in my lifetime at my job and I'll be buying physical hunting land with that $$$. And if it all goes to $0, no big deal, as I've said above I planned it out that I lose nothing.

Again, I don't care to participate in any of this. But it's clear to me where the opportunity is here.

I see the evolution of the BRAIN.....It seems kids need constant stimulation....Listen to music while watching video clips, and texting someone at the same time. I can see our brains just facilitating a bunch of APPS, or whatever. The Oculus will probably be just a pair of glasses and keyboards and screens will be holograms.
