Fishing was good last Saturday Sunday and Monday for numbers of fish, most in that 18-22 inch range.
Saturday night what was a 1 ft pressure ridge north of prudens blew up into a 6-8 ft impassable sucker for a long ways. So we fished the south side of it in 11 ft and at 10:30 my buddy caught a hell of a nice fish in the video below.
As far as fishing for us allot has changed since 2020, the water is WAY clearer from zebra mussels maybe??
Anyways the days of big fish flying in and crushing anything being ripped that rattles seems to be almost over for us anyways. Deadsticks with spoons definitely caught the bigger fish for us. A rattle bait worked to bring them in on the livescope and then just subtle jigging with a spoon with a live minnow on seemed to work best for us. The 18-22 inchers still crushed the rattle stuff but the big girls seemed gun shy. Tried the mouth yesterday morning, lots of fish but many were like 10 inches think we caught one 23 incher and so we moved east. Thats our report anyways, good luck!
Here's a little video of our best one.
Dang right that makes the trip...Congrats to the fisherman!
