Given: 579Noticed on my route this week that banks were closed due to this Juneteenth holiday. Thought it was kind of funny that it landed or was observed on the 20th. Then I found out what this new made up holiday was for and the fact it is celebrated over fathersday weekend. The irony has not gone unappreciated.

Given: 1,914ok. i had to google this this morning. i didn't even know what juneteenth was. i fail to see the issue here. i realize there is "black history month". but, best i can tell, there isn't a single holiday on the calendar that commemorates the end of the civil war and/or the emancipation of slaves. which realistically, seems like a pretty markable moment in this countries history. and it took 160 years after the signing of the emancipation of proclamation to get it done. this year it happened to fall on fathers day. but, big deal.
