When I troll cranks, my 6 rod trolling setup consists of one 7 ft rod off the right side, one 7 ft rod off the left side, and the other 4 rods in their storage compartments. I might be doing it wrong though.
that made me laugh thanks

Ya but they're not pulling 6 or more lines through a bunch of slow trolling jiggers packed on a shoreline with only option to go way outside of them off a steep break. Even our huge flats can have more traffic than Erie.
When i was out there alot more people were in a line than ever seen on the lake here. Difference is they were all going the same speed and no contours to follow. 60-70 boats in a line looked like a high way.

when doing 6 you have to have guys that know what they are doing is the main thing.

If your running 6 crankers the other people in the boat better have their shit together. Run some 14 fters out the front, set your 10 fters out the middle and run your little shortys straight out the back. Imo 6 is a pain in the ass to deal with though. Also you better make sure those cranks are running true or your in for one big headache untangling shit. Your biggest challenge will be how the cranks run.

Trolling 6 along a contoured shoreline is difficult especially if there any others boats along it. If they would just slip out and let crankers go thru on the inside we'd be past them in no time. Sadly it seems they'll move right in front of the guy trying to toll by. It's even a hard to get buy them without boards out especially when it seems they have no regard for others.

I prefer to run old used Reef Runners and Flicker Shad. They run straight lol!
