I see standing rock is getting fisty off the res and their numbers are growing. I also see they have an actress who is outclassed in the acting world by most porn stars her talent is so low but she will undoubtedly attract a fair bit of attention. This will be interesting because they have zero shot of winning anything here at this point other then jail time with much of the pipe already in the ground and all permits in hand and federally approved.

Wonder how the "movie star" got there? I mean, I hope she arrived on foot, or on horseback. Otherwise, oil was involved in her transportation.

She must not have a lot of plans in Hollywood, if she's planning on sitting out on the prairie for the next year. And she must have some pretty warm clothes.

I thought you meant that they found remains linked to the tribal chairman like he went all hillary clinton on some one and shut them up but i see the pipeline found remains while digging

Dave Archambauldt Jr. This is unconfirmed, just someone I follow on twitter from the area put it out there 30 minutes ago. Others have tweeted that they dug up human remains today.

Are they actually putting pipe in the ground right now? The news made it sound like they were just making some access roads at this point.

The crews have just got to that particular spot so its just getting going there but they have been rolling hard streight across from there for a few months already. Big thing is this is where they will be working from to run it under tbe lake so the natives are having a hissy fit about it. I might be wrong but it seems to me like these guys have seen to many BLM protest and are going to try and follow that lead. Because of that i can see this getting realy ugly before its over with. I would put nothing past them to try and hault the dig!

The6 O'clock news confirmed the arrest of the Chairman, and one councilmen. No report IF they actually dug up any human remains.

I'll bet if some money were to appear and be traded for their suffering and their sorrows and their blah blah blah, some of them would grab a shovel and start diggin instead of protesting.

IDK about that. The tribes were awarded millions of $$ for the Black Hills, and they never accepted it. Its been sitting there just drawing interest.

What was the reasoning for this cash award?

For the taking of the Black Hills. Those lands were given to them by treaty.

Question is do the protesting people have any idea how the pipeline works, or is built safety wise. Perhaps if they were educated about it they wouldn't be protesting. Spose at this point its moot and its all about joining in on the movement now.

All kidding aside they are not breaking any law by protesting. We have wind farms going up all around stark County, I don't like it at all, but work for a living, and don't see protesting as a worth while activity. Besides it's not my land, or my choice. And really who owns Indian land? The tribe, individuals, the government, tax payers? Serious question, cause it seems if it's racist to use an Indian head for a logo, whether it be for a college or state Highway signs, it must also be racist for Indians to have reservations that I can't use, access, or hunt. I am being discriminated against.
Seems odd that my rights are nonexistent and hold zero value.

Funny thing is that standing rock is mad they are taking the Indian Head off the signs and the pipe does not go on any tribal land. They keep saying you people stole the land hell none of my family got here till early 1900 so no one related to me had no part in it so why do I keep getting blamed just because I am white........ that's racist

The land the pipeline is going on is not Indian land so they should have no say. Even if it was Indian land the must have already signed off because construction is starting. This really is a poor reason to throw a protest and if it does grow violent it will be for nothing. I hope these people see the true value before turning violent. That pipeline will never leak

you would think they would have taken that black hills compensation by now. They could be fixing the many problems the tribes have on the reservation and invest in the future. They could even finish crazy horse for gods sake that thing looks the same as when I was a kid!

I find the whole black hills thing a joke. They had only occupied the black hills for 90 years before the 1868 treaty. Funny you never hear the arikara clame them even though they had them long before the sioux got their ass kicked by the tribes over by the great Lakes and were forced out onto the prairie. Damn sconies i tell ya! Hell the sioux first settled the hills ironically in 1776! So the sioux saying you stole our land is funny since they stole it first.......alls fair in love and war.

I am all for not putting the pipeline on its purposed route to please the tribe. :::As we do this we also cut every power line going into the reservation and reroute around the res. Then we block every road into and out of res. no road repairs, no gas trucks to there gas stations, no electricity lines from outside res allowed. No propane trucks to fill there tanks ECT. ECT. Let them figure it out on there own and see how long that lasts. Not :::
