Got my seeds in the mail from Gurneys. Now to start planning what goes where, and I think I can till in some more compost this afternoon with weather like this. Don't hardly have snow even in ditches.

I'm going to need to do a whole bunch of cucumbers this year. My youngest loves pickles. She can wolf a jar in a day no problem.

When I was younger I despised gardens: weeding, bugs, upkeep.... now that I'm older and wiser I've realized
Gardens= Therapy

I am doing a garden this year for the first time. I checked out Gurneys online. Do you guys all start from just seed or do you start with plants?

Probably take a few years off then you will have free labor option with dirty jr. He would be a really good helper because I know I was a really good helper atleast that's what my dad told me. Covered head to toe in dirt with only a cloth diaper on.
Anyways I going to plant my own seeds this year it seems to not make a difference if I buy them early because it still takes 2 to 3 weeks to acclimate.

I agree 100 percent with this

I'm tired of dealing with the rabbits mowing down my garden in one night. Plus I have a fence to put in, a shed to build, and a lure room to gut and retool.

I have a good number of dog bombs sprouting/appearing daily with the snow melt that I should have taken care of more religiously during the winter.

Just got my online ordering yesterday. I never order from Gurney. Not impressed with them. I use Johnnys, Jung and Tomato Growers. I did order three types of seeds from Pinetree.

Wife and I planted 215 seeds in starter trays last night. We grow all our tomatoes, peppers, and pretty much everything we can get away with in pots and plan on giving a lot of stuff away if it all grows... not very good at this seedling stuff yet... plants around 50 of the super 100 cherry tomatoes and that makes me happy happy happy. Those things are so Fricken good it's ridiculous...

I would be perfectly fine with not giving any of the super 100s away. those damned things are so good they should be their own food group. Wife is finally giving in to the idea of some raised beds in the back yard. We don't really have a spot that would be good to till up so I'm trying to get her to agree to something like an 6' x 40' raised garden to do our planting in.
