I have not looked into it , can a non resident apply ?

Only for bighorn and it's a $100 application fee. Non-residents can not apply for elk or moose. The only way they can get one is to win the raffle from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. They give away one elk and one moose tag which are good statewide.

i don't have much to add, but i was at the g&f today getting my fishing license and caught what i believe was the beginning of a meeting addressing the issue. seconds after i got my cellphone out to record the meeting, they shut the door, so i only got 3 seconds worth of video

Need some major overhauling either at the G&F or their computer system or both.
Why can other States get their drawings done way sooner than ND G&F?
Something needs to be done as it is long past due!

I feel like they do a great job managing our fishing and hunting opportunities in North Dakota....but if you think their lottery systems don't need an overhaul you haven't been paying attention or you've never applied in another state and watched how quickly and smoothly a lottery can be ran

Ever make a mistake on an app to Colorado or Montana? They round file it. You figure it out when you don't get a license and they don't cash your check. That sort of thing doesn't happen in ND. They make every effort to get you into the drawing if you get your app in by the deadline.

No personal offense meant but you're telling me we've reached a point in this country where if you make a mistake on a big game application it can't be a better luck next year situation, we have to have a game and fish department track everyone who makes a mistake down so they can still be included. Hmmm

Happened to me once. Didn't include my SSN. They called and corrected the app. It's called good customer service. Not common with government agencies, and it does take longer to get things ready.

Because people plan their vacations around hunting season. Many places you have to request time off months in advance. Guessing you don't have to do this.
