Is AAA hassle free or do they bury you in paperwork when you file a claim ? I'm usually prepared and Can't remember the last time when I could have even used it but dislike sending the Mrs. on a road trip alone incase she would have troubles.

Yup they are still in business, I remember those stickers on cars as far back as I can remember. I might have contacted them in the past or something but I have been on their mailing list for a few years now. I just got another sales pitch in the mail yesterday and for $ 100 a year you can get on a decent plan. Vehicles are so dependable and we are insurance poor the way it is but the older we get the less I would expect the Mrs. to change her own tire.

I've had the premium RV plan for about 5 years. Costs $93 and covers RV towing up to 200 miles plus all the other AAA benefits. I think I've used it nearly every year at least once and had my RV towed twice. The tow truck driver told me the cost to tow my 31' RV from New Salem to my place in Mandan would have been well over $450 because it was on a weekend after regular hours so that $93 was money well spent. I've never had to fill out any paperwork before or after, just call the toll free number and wait. I used to have a different company before AAA but the second time I called for assistance on the road they titty sprinkled me around for 3 hours before someone finally called me back and told me that they didn't have a contract with any towing company in my area and I would have to find my own tow truck, pay for it and then submit the bill to them for "possible" approval of some of the charges. I asked AAA if they had local contracts with towing companies before I signed on with them and they said, "Of course, we have several companies on contract.". Never had one bit of trouble with them and their customer service has been great.

Huh, who woulda thunk it.

I had a '06 Ford 6ltr diesel stick it to me once(a bunch of times), but had a buddy that was able to help return my 5th wheel up the driveway and tow my absolute piece of shit '06 Ford to the shop.

mrs johnr is quite handy with a jack, and lug nut wrench, and she can dig out a stuck pickup like nobodies business. I guess if I was to loose her, maybe triple a would be the next best thing. Can they make a samwich at 4 am on my way out to the fishing hole for me?

Thanks Ponyroper, Having a toll free number to call with someone on the other end that will take care of the rest is what I am looking for.

My AAA card is one in my wallet that I never leave home without. The peace of mind is well worth it. They will bring you gas out on the road if you run out, send someone to unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, (been there, done that-with the car running;:;banghead) or jump start your battery. I think they even have something to bail you out of jail or something. Not sure about the last thing but I could check if anyone wants a lit of the benefits.

I have had it for as long as I have been driving and is well worth the hundred bucks a year, my wife has locked her keys in her car so many times over the years it has paid for itself in that alone, Have used it twice for towing services and the discounts one gets being member more than pays back the cost of it each year. It is amazing how many benefits there are to it. About mind boggling.
I have used it while even being a passenger a couple times with friends who have had break downs and or keys locked in as well and they cover that no questions asked.
