- - - Updated - - -

made our 8th trip to northern Canada, Rain and snow so not so good. Spent time in tent. Smallest horn was a 5 inch spike while largest was a five point that did score counting all horns over one inch 97 with 15 of those inches adding character to the score. Other side did not have the accessories but score 80+. total of about 150 but no longer pick up the white ate on horns. Maybe 75 more for them if pick. Not all horns are in the picture. Goal at one time was a horn scoring over 70 but now are able to find some over 80.
Biggest disappointment for me is my age and with that age the physical and mainly mental part of the trip. Hard on the atv let alone my body and mind.
Hunting partners 4x4 shed he found in ND is now in the current addition of Big Buck Mag.
But it is good and hope for maybe a few more years of this. I think the bigger horns are now in the safe. db

That is a lot of lamps or ceiling lights, if that's what you make out of them?

I give mine to my hunting partner and he has a huge stockpile of horns that has taken over the house and out building from the last 15 years of doing this. Not sure what he will do someday with all his horns. db

Why not sell them if he has that many? Can get a decent chunk of change for sheds especially big ones hell you can get two to three hundred for single shed over 80 especially if it's a 4.

Man it looks like you guys have mastered your craft up there DB, congrats!

There is big money in big sheds, and 5s over 90 are big bucks.
I scored a single clean 5 that went 96 7/8 a few years ago at a big antler auction.
While I was scoring it a buyer offered the guy over 18K for that single shed..he turned him down!
I've seen trucks and tractors traded for big stuff antler wise, its crazy what the big stuff brings.

Crazy cool DB!!! I dream of being able to do that one day. Maybe next year. If you don't mind sharing a bit of info....how far north are you guys? Is that all on public/crown land?
Can PM me if you don't want to share publically.

10 dollars a pound and been offer 3000 for a horn but they are priceless. So no sale. Friends first offer for a horn was 15000 and it went up from there but again priceless. Each is one of a kind that was found and if that is the value today, tomorrow the price will still be there. If not that is fine.
so the collection continues. ,
Will share some information shortly.
Those two horns were from the good old US of A. It does not take place overnight. Db

At the time it was the largest known 5 in the world, I think it still is. It was found in Illinois.

This one is probably worth a pretty penny as well!

Haha antlers are definitely cool but a new boat is cooler! I'm not sure there is a chunk of bone out there that could stop me from saying sold at the mention of 15,000 dollers but what ever floats your boat I guess. Some very sexy horns there for sure.

Canadians are just cringing with thoughts of all the "mericans" that are going to rape and pillage their deer in the coming years. My prediction- going north of the border will be the next hunting fad, much like ice fishing lake Winnipeg.

The guides are salivating.

"Bentley videos in part got us started. Db"

Me to, treasures in the buckbrush right!
;:;bowdown

The old Coleman and Thornsberry hunting videos are what got me headed north hunting in the early 90s. "Monarchs of Alberta is one of my favorites"
Part of Matt's collection.
