Maybe I'm just crazy and imagining things but didn't ND legislators pass a law that it was illegal to cruise in the left lane on four lane highways?
In Illinois they'll nail your ass to the wall for hoarding the left lane. I think the fine is $115 bucks if I recall. And they enforce it big time. Especially trucks.
In some areas yes I think they still do. Michigan still has alot off 55 mph roads alsoDoes Illinois still have the 55mph speed limit for anything pulling a trailer? I've had to pull a car trailer through there a few times and that really sucked.
Worst peave for me is running around Bismarck and having to wait for the 6 cars to get through a red left turn light so I can get through the intersections with a green light.
I have ranch hand bumpers on both pickups and almost smoked a vette last week as I nailed the throttle as he was about the 5th car running the red left turn lite missed him by about 2 inches, he and his passenger had some big ass eye balls about then. My wife hates that but one day I will get lucky and take out a couple.
It wouldn't be so bad but it is to the point one has to wait for the jack wagons running the left turn light at every single intersection every single day anymore.
I heard a ND Highway patrol man on the radio a few months back taking questions on a talk radio program and this was answered by no laws prohibiting it just common courtesy dictates moving over but legally one can drive there all day.
Same goes for high beams, legally no required to dim high beam head lites on a divided 4 lane meeting oncoming traffic, another common courtesy issue according to the highway PoPo.
In Def. Driving they actually encourage you NOT to dim on a divided highway. Anytime you dim on a higher speed divided highway you end up over driving your headlights. In other words, you wouldn't be able to see something ahead of you within your stopping distance. Properly adjusted high beam headlights while being a bit bright won't blind the other driver like on a two lane highway.
