Damn thief!

Then again, I used to have golden eagles swoop in and steal my grouse when I was a kid. Pretty cool when you're 13.

My old ass thinks it's pretty cool still. Always was fascinated by Eagles.

seen a gob of eagles in the area this year way more than every year, like ten to twenty on our thirty mile biweekly drives. Then on a road trip seen twenty in an old cottonwood a few miles north of Edgely on 281

Fishing up in Canada years ago we had our stringer of fish hanging off the side of the boat and noticed we had three eagle eye balling it. One decided to get a better look and took a swipe at it. Almost sharted my self. A few minutes later we got into a school of gold eyes and decided to have a little fun and feed them. Holly smokes those birds huge up close and personal.

If in fact thats a real video you took, way cool! curious how you happened to get the moment? was the eagle circling for a spell? eye balling your pike? The location where this took place looks like canada judging by the background.

im guessing he didn't just randomly have the camera set up like that.

I'm sure he was hoping it would happen.

Hell go duck hunting in the tail race and you will likely meet them! They are definitely good at picking off the cripples.

I know. They are all over, even up here in Minot area. I know damn good and well they put a dent in the upland numbers, but I still am in awe of them. Childhood thing I suppose.

The eagle is sitting in the tree in the background. This was undoubtedly a setup on a bird he knew would do this. Doesn't change the fact it's cool as hell.

Caught a walleye deep (~35' or so) and it wouldn't revive. Eagle in the tree on the tip of the island we were fishing near. Figured it'd go after the fish so got the long lens on my camera. Father in Law told me when the dive started and I hit the shutter button @ 8FPS.
