I know this site is called "NoDak" Angler but Fort Peck is close enough. Anyone have any recent ice reports from out there? Planning a trip for early February.

Any tips regarding the lake would be appreciated as well as I have never fished it during hard water season. Plan to target walleye and lake trout.

Thanks

What area are you headed too? The west end(crooked creek) has plenty of ice, lot of people out fishing. East end (dry arm), sounds like it has very good ice too. I do know the dam area took a lot longer to freeze with the wind.
as always, use caution and drill test holes.

Be careful out there as that place is known for bad ice. There is methane seeps out there that never freeze or just get a skim layer of ice. The ice never gets as thick as Sak as it is always warmer and freezes later.
