Fox surprised us this morning and brought 5 pups with her then Dad and a Magpie showed up with breakfast. I tried getting some close ups with my phone and a few different optics but failed miserably so I missed some good footage of the pups feeding on the tit. I finally gave up on the phone idea and grabbed a cheap camera that I had never used before. This is about 60 yards out my office window.

Yeti Boy (AKA stupid cat) Jumped out the window a few seconds into the video and got his attention. We knew there was a male but not a whole family. We have been watching the male mark territory for a year or so, This morning was the first time we saw the rest of the tribe. Coyotes are pretty thick up here so I am guessing that's the reason they are hanging around the yard.

Always liked to see foxes around even though they're hell on game birds.

Foxes are so much fun to watch, especially if they don't know you're watching. Lots of expressive body language as they interact with other fox or as you watch them stalking prey.

Foxes get a pass from me on the trap/snare line until they outnumber them damnable coyotes. Then I'll start to take a few of them as well. As of now, foxes are less than 10 percent of my canine catch so they all get let go if possible. Cool footage!!

Nature sure is neat, thanks for sharing! I just bought my first Dsrl camera. Got a great deal and now trying to figure out how to use it. Already can tell it's like a difference between night and day from the old point and shoot camera I have had for years.

I just got this camera too. The camera actually did ok it's just too small framed. I have a heck of a time trying to hold still on 10 zoom . Going to come up with a quick mount that I can attach it to a gun stock. I have a spotting scope mounted on a stock and It just feels natural when you pick it up and its easy to have a good hold and find a rest. Fox must have had their picnic somewhere else today , This is another clip from yesterday.

Its amazing how small the female can look when she lays down. The first morning I saw her laying out in the yard I thought it was a little piece of cardboard that blew in till I grabbed the binoculars .

Dial the wheel to the A or Ap setting for Aperture Priority. In the menu put the focus on Ai Servo. Turn up the quality to the highest setting. Turn up the frame rate to the highest setting. If your camera has the option to set the focus to a button on the back rather than a 1/2 press of the trigger button, set it for back-button focus.

Can you start hosting a daily call in show? It would eliminate a lot of annoying text messages.

There are a couple ponds real close, I think it was a coot but not sure. When there was still a couple feet of ice he strutted through the yard one morning with a muskrat .
