20+ years after he passed my Grandpa's shotgun was found today. Who would of thought he had a hiding spot under the pool table.

Let's see if the experts can guess the make model and era.

That's an awesome story. Some of those old timers were prety creatiive when it came to hiding thier prize posessions and personal items. This the first time I heard under a pool table.

A person wonders how much gets missed. My moms only brother left on farm passed and when going through freezer some of meat packages felt too soft. Come to find out lots of money was stored that way from when grandma passed 20 years ago. Plus many guns all over in places found by accident. Good find what made a person look did have to move table?

LOL,guess I'm not the only one finding treasure after my parents passed on.....20 +years ago I switched out my dad's fiber glass walleye rods over to graphite, old fart saved those old fiber glass rods and old mitchell reels, found them rat holed in his basement rafters, outof site out of mind, deal, otherwise I'm sure my mother would've shit canned the lot, also found a quiver full of his target and hunting arrows, infact his first "robinhood" arrows (aluminum shafts) tucked away.now resting on his 151 scored whittail bucks head gear

Always nice to find a heirloom of value. Truth is most finds are valuable memories. Just something that reminds a person of good times past.

Reminds me of when my grandpa passed in 1997. No one could find his old 22-250. They looked all over and decided that he must have borrowed to a neighbor or something and never got it back. Fast forward to 2018 when my aunt decided they were going to tear down an old shed. While cleaning out that shed she found the 22-250 standing in a corner behind mountains of other junk stored in there. I wish I had taken a picture of it because for the 20+ years it sat in the heat and cold it still looked pretty good.

I found my dad's fishing journal after he passed four years ago. He left me a lot of guns and other stuff, but that journal is the absolute gold in my humble opinion. He had dates and notes about some of our adventures together and I never even knew he was writing about them. They were all just for him. The one that hit me the hardest was one he wrote that states I was the best damn fishing partner a guy could ever have. Brings me to tears every time I read it!

Definitely love all the stories!

My grandfather passed 25yrs ago and I have looked for the gun extensively. Found his old ww2 jap rifle a few years ago but this one was hidden. My uncle is tearing apart the basement due to water issues. Long story short I knew there was a picture of my Grandpa and JFK when he came to Mandan that needed to be brought to a safer location. I also found my old daisy bb gun. Definitely exiting to be reunited with so much history!

Not sure how old gramps was but keep an eye out for money stashes too. He was a good hider for sure. When the banks went belly up in 1930 some people lost every dime to thier name and almost everyone lost trust in the banks so they stashed thier money in hiding places. I grew up in an antique shop and heard a few stories about stashed money that was found in furniture.
It was a big thing in the 70s when the small one or two quarter farmers retired so there were lots of auction sales. Most of the time it was burried outside where they could see it every morning when they walked out the front door or stashed away in the matresses they slept on. Other places were in the center pedestal of round oak tables, coins inside the hollow tubes on brass and steel bed headboards, false bottoms in wooden trunks and writing desks and under the floor boards of the house or celler. Many years ago a friend tore down an old garage on his property that had a dirt floor and was doing dirt work with his bobcat and dug up enough silver certificates and then some to build the new garage. In all my years of scouting antique furniture that went through the shop Iv'e found less than 5 bucks in old money but it's out there.
