Where to get those? I have the stretchy ones that slip over the toe and heel. They don't stay on real well.

I use the same screws in the lugs on my ATV for traction on ice and hard packed snow.

I use those as well and have found that a small bungee across the bridge of your boot connected to the heel strap on each side holds them up quite well. At 2 pr for 10 bucks, it's hard to buy something more expensive.

Those are the cat's meow. I have had many a pair of ice cleats for walking on ice at a job I used to love, but these were the best. BE damn sure you have boots on and not loafers because that strap going across your instep hurts like hell with loafers on. ALSO, consider dedicating a pair of (older) boots with a similar sole (vibram) or any other lugged boot, buy you some half inch sheet metal screws and run 'em in your boots. When the season is over with, run them screws out and away you go. You can run for tip ups with these on, on glare ice. Holy sheet, a bit spendy. We used to get 'em for free.

Got these at the Scheels Ice Fest this year and love them, put the pull on chains to shame almost. I am really amazed with how tiny the spikes are on the one insole set, they are small but mighty. On glare ice you can actually hear the ice pop as they bite, probably not ideal for sneaking up on tipups. Only down side is the swapping, not that it is difficult but I can see instances where a little inconvenient.

^^ If i was buying new ice boots id be very tempted to try those Korkers. I already have Korker wading boots and it is nice being able to change the soles depending on conditions/state for fly fishing. You can also get much more aggressive spiked soles if you want, no more dealing with ice cleats sliding off.

yeah it is nice with the options they give. What really sold me this year was me and a buddy walking out and back a pretty good distance. with my old pull on chains I know that I would have felt a pretty good burn with pulling the house and when you go from snow to ice you really had to be ready. With these I walked at whatever pace I needed and if needing to speed up for a snow patch was no problem and when coming off not a single slip. Had I known I would have liked them this much I would have bought 2 pair that day, sale=$100 Reg Price=$250, when I wear these out I won't feel bad about paying $250 to replace them. The other part is the comfort and warmth, not just the soles but the normal soles that come with them are quite good grip as well.

I have the same cleats. They have chewed the wood floor in my house to pieces. Best there is on ice, though.
