Tell why these new garden tractor lawnmower needs a 24hp motor if they use an electric pto to turn the blades?
Yes that's what I meant by electric pto running the bladesI can't tell either, so I'm just going to jump in.
The blades are not driven by electric motors; they are belt driven like any other tractor. The "electric PTO" is just the clutch that engages the belt drive. In this case it is a button on the dash that you pull (usually) to engage and push to disengage, as opposed to a lever that you have to pull to activate the belt tensioner to engage the blades.

See post #4My question is why did the engineers and designers feel the need to put such a big motor in a mower if the only thing the motor does is run the tires. They could have easily put in a 10 hp motor and saved on money since the electric pto motor runs the mower deck.
I think 1big nailed itSee post #4
I already know that, that's not what im asking though. I think the issue is you guys cant understand my question im asking.See post #4
