Boats were there yesterday. I don’t think it’s real easy to launch but people have been using it.

Hopefully the cool weather the next couple of days kickstarts the bite/fish movement.

Remember 2011: '08/ '09 were similar to "this". God Please Forbid.

We lost our faceted "meteor" on the West Beach and the spillway ran "hard" for the first time. :( It was a good meteor; maybe the best. It would prop your rods with ease and had many shelves for convenient access to your shit. My son did his first solo "bait/bank" hook set from this meteor and caught a 3lb channel cat while I was up at the truck getting his snacks. His prowess impressed an audience down stream fishing in what I thought was a retarded place...He was 6yoa.

I wonder if it's stuck in the Honey Hole or down in Bismarck. It was generally a spheroid.

Lament for the meteor:

When my lot was young as yours was at this event, I would likely not have left them on the bank to fight a bite.
At the lake seems safe as current is a non issue.

The boy once decided to swim across the boat launch bay, made it about half way and was struggling, some nice fella noticed and threw him a jacket. Was a close one that I wasn't going to repeat.

It was low flow and he had a life jacket on. I was 20yds away. He was raised with some sense.

The rock was about 6ft in diameter and was 3ft from the water's edge (low flow). The water was about 6in deep for out about 4ft. The rod was propped on the backside. I wasn't going to send him to the truck to bring me a gallon of whiskey. It was mostly full.

Oh, he only lost one finger with the electric knife, filleting his catfish prize. He's now in his mid-20's and a cutlery expert. He's adapted well to his glass eye after a BB gun incident with his mother. They were in a friendly little spat and he peaked around her car at just the "right" time. It cured his cross dominance and greatly improved his shotgunning.
