did i say i ordered 5? i lied. $700? it would take quite a bit of honey to make that up. we go through a lot of honey at my house. but, we also get it for free most of the time from locals who have hives on their property. even if we didn't get it for free... a $10 jar every 2 months equates to about $60/year in honey. so... roughly a 15 year payback once you include interest and the bees. of course that doesn't account for the honey you could sell or give away i guess. but, i would likely be giving it away. pretty cool deal nonetheless.

NEAT, wouldnt the bees try to reclaim the honey as its pouring into the jar? How does it work when temps are low? Id be interested in seeing how the inside works....

I don't think it would be an economic success, more for the off the grid, I'll do my own thing, or tree hugger type. There is stuff on the website that indicates it can be used in cold climates. I don't think you leave the jar there continuously, more of a go harvest when you can type of deal. Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you make honey into beer? I thought I heard Busch light was honey based.

Honey can be fermented to make alcohol because of its high sugar content, similar to a lot of fruits, but I don't believe it's used in a base for beer. Honey wine is I believe is called mead, it's Hungarian or something.

Not so good reviews from professional beekeepers on U-tube. Was going to post this on the "Useless" thread.
