I swapped out my factory installed gen 2 for a gen 3 today and found the gen 3 is not as tall as the 2 and leaves a 1/2 gap or so, width is the same. Any ideas of what to use for a nice looking finish besides duct tape?

grrr .... that's a bummer

perhaps a cut piece of plastic behind it?

You could cut a thin border piece that runs all the way around the new graph and then mount the unit. It will appear uniform all the way around the graph and cover the gap.
