Anyone notice the bill that says if you pull your app before the drawing is run you will still receive a bonus point.....of course it will cost you the fee by the looks of it but that is earmarked for plots so that's not to bad. Not sure why they just don't make it easy and just offer the option of just buying the point but whatever it gets to the same point in the end. Passed 90 to 0 on one side so highly likely it will pass the otherside.

so if im reading this right you have to apply, then can request to pull out of the draw thus receiving a point??
why wouldn't they just offer to purchase a point and save the run around on guys who intend to do it anyhow??

im not gonna bich as like the option but shes a double edged sword as Wyoming has got out of control and they really do not have a good handle on draw odds as many many people sit out yearly so draw odds can vary significantly year to year

I agree, it's ridiculous to have people pay all that money only to have to refund it. Just allow people to purchase a point and get it over with.

Yeah the way it reads it's about 10 steps more complicated then it needs to be. For most ND hunts it's not going to show up much like it does in WY but undoubtedly it will show at times in mule deer, pronghorns and probably muzzle season. For me if it's an option it's most likely use would be in Turkey tags on certain years.

I think being able to buy a point would be great.... with work and college going on I just don't have the time to devote to a Muley hunt likea I'd like to so buying a point would be great for when I'm done with school...

So if you pull out too late, your hunting plans may get changed for a few years? I coulda told you that without having it go through congress.

My understanding is that SD does this by having a fictitious unit with zero tags available. You build your points with no chance at being drawn.

Not that way really down here in SD Reprobait . You can either put in for a chance to be drawn or just buy a preference point on line . Can do it anytime up to Dec 15th I think . Kinda nice because you can decide what to do after drawings are done .
