Quick change spinner clevis

New styles that I haven't tried yet, They both look like a better setup than the plastic quick change that I have been using, If they stay on the line. I like the looks of the top one , Has anyone used either of these or is there others that work better ?

i've been staying away from the metal ones thinking they might wear through the line...

That could be , I wonder if they stay on good ? The plastic ones I have wear out from putting/taking blades on and off and soon you have a blade falling off. I tie my spinners extra long with fireline and when the teeth marks start to show up I nip a few inches off the end and tie on a new hook. Some spinner blades are over a buck apiece so a guy hates losing those.

I think if it's in the water you won't have any issues with it wearing the line. the water will lubricate the line and it'll cause the clevis to basically float off the line for the most part.

I would more trust the bottom design.

I have done the experiment with the plastic changeable clevis versus the old metal style unchangeable ones. I am actually going the way of the unchangeable clevis due to way better action of the spinner.

We used the metal ones on the tip pic and found that if they warp, even just a little bit, they fail to work properly. I have no experience with the one in the bottom pic. We went with the plastic ones and just dealt with them breaking after 50 changes or whatever it took. Though we didn't use any $1 spinner blades either.

I see what your saying, The last batch of plastic quick change I got were longer and fatter than I was hoping they would be. Smaller blades were sluggish and even worse than that on Devils Lake during the Algae bloom. I tied a couple up with a floater in front of the spinner so anything that slides down the line hangs up on that instead of the clevis. Don't really know if it made a difference or not. I usually run bigger Colorado blades so it wasn't such a big deal but I would probably use small blades more if they performed better. I will order a few of each and more of the ones that look like they will work better. They are cheaper than dirt but worth even less than that if they don't work . There's quite a variety nowadays.

Bottom one second from the right looks like one id like to try. The plastic ones are what I mainly use now.
