Just how exactly does someone use an ice auger in such a way as to get it confiscated?

Fessenden, ND - Two people are facing charges in connection with an assault against a man in rural Wells County last week.

The victim of that assault died later in the week.

Investigators say Alexander Lail and Deanna Neurohr used an ice auger to burn the inside thigh of Jason Thomas's right leg and Thomas, according to court records, "suffered permanent loss or impairment of a function or a bodily member or organ."

Thomas died of heart issues a few days after the attack.

Lail and Neurohr are charged with Criminal Conspiracy - a Class A Felony carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, and Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault - a Class B Felony with a 10 year maximum.

Other charges were also filed last week against the pair.

Lail was charged with felony eavesdropping.

Court records say Lail bugged the office of Fessenden's police chief for several months last year.

Neurohr was booked on a felony drug possession charge.

The two are due to make their initial court appearances next week.

Hahaha, they are not going to auction off an ice auger that was used to mutilate someone's body. It will be used as evidence in trial. Likely confiscated from a sconi for overharvesting fishes.

But if they did that would make a hell of a story to tell your buddies about your new ice auger!

I may almost pay some of the exorbitant prices I have seen things sell for at these auctions if you were to also get the backstory on how it ended up at the auction.

As is, I will skip this event.

Oh, and I already have a nearly new 4 year old propane Jiffy. Runs great, I just don't seem to find the time so I don't really need another shelf occupier.

note: the one listed is an Ion. Aren't all Ions electric? But I kinda knew the references to Wells county people was going to be made.

The none sarcastic answer to your question is all items used in committing of the crime are subject to confiscation such as the fishing rods, trucks, snowmobiles and excetera. They definitely get a bit liberal on that law at times and many departments at least in other srates use it to get new equipment for themselves so they are motivated to push it to the max.
