In my defense, I was awfully hammered. Sorry everyone.
The samething happens at the gravel pits where people go to shoot there guns in the small town I'm from. I built a bench for sighting in rifles and left it at the gravel pit for people to use. Thru out the years hundreds of shooters used it. Till somebody was out there and ran it over. I built another one and a few years later it too got ran over. And people would leave garbage everywhere. They would bring boxes to hold there targets and just leave the garbage. Then the county shut the gravel pit down and put gates up closing it off. A few people ruined it for everyone.Same thing happened at a dam out my way called Browns Dam on my beloved Sheyenne river. The guy who owns the land allowed everyone to come and enjoy the great fishing for decades. He even put a dumpster and some picnic tables out there for folks to use at his own expense. Then one summer some buttholes set the dumpster on fire, broke all their glass beer bottles on the rocks by the river, and then to top it off, threw the picnic tables into the dumpster fire to boot. Been locked up tight ever since. Been 40 years since anyone has fished that place. I only fished it once when I was about 10 when my uncle took me there. Shameful what people do sometimes.
Sooo the idea is to hold/control flood water when the big one's come (100yr flood which happend like 3+ times in 15yrs) to protect the City of Fargo. Yet people hope that water is kept at a level to provide them with recreation meaning a certain amount of the capacity will be already used up. Then when the "big" flood hits again and there is enough capacity available then what?I hope they keep enough water in the diversion to fish all year. From the pics I've seen looks like the dams are gonna create some great spots.
Same out in williston people leave all trash lure boxes minnow bags anything u could imagine bought at a gas station. Seems like the younger kids sadly littering. It washes up on the east shore after wind.Sooo the idea is to hold/control flood water when the big one's come (100yr flood which happend like 3+ times in 15yrs) to protect the City of Fargo. How does trash cause flooding? Trash is one thing, I'm talking about a multi billion flood protection system being used to hold water year around, then when conditions for a flood happen part of the carrying capacity is already used up causing potential flooding anyways. Still the project is for protecting Fargo, surrounding areas it's tough luckSame out in williston people leave all trash lure boxes minnow bags anything u could imagine bought at a gas station. Shit the railroad started building a bridge over the missouri after they started the bridges for the diversion...the bridge over flowing water is gonna be done substantially before the dry ground bridges will be completed for the diversion from what i can tell.....makes sense..Sooo the idea is to hold/control flood water when the big one's come (100yr flood which happend like 3+ times in 15yrs) to protect the City of Fargo. I have knowledge on both..and the bridge over the river was not prepped for years it also required massive amounts of material to be moved..substantially more then what was moved for the bridge/interstate section. But you sure sound like you know what your talking about..womt respond again to you..you offer nothing..not evem sure why i respomded to this...to add..i didnt post because i know nothing about them...loser that cant stick to one accounthell ya zactly its almost like a bridge over an existin span that has been planned n prepped for years and can be partially pre fabbed should go faster than multiple crossings that require billions of cubic yards of clay to be bought dug hauled placed n compacted to a psi that sustains traffic n erosion but it’s so fun to be so smart n right from our armchairs lmao we hate everything hey corps next time 1 culvert 1 load of dirt call it good
Blame the landowners who own the adjacent property who think they own the river right there, one being an ambulance chasing lawyer. They both have no concept of the highwater mark rule in ND.No, it’s called protecting the stupid people from drowning at the dam. Just like changing intersections, speed limits and the such. Spending a shit ton of money to protect people because there are a lot people that can’t think for themselves around anymore.
