Yes. Finally told the guy to fuck off. Haven't heard from them in over a week. Be prepared for a response, they can cuss like a Swede.

When they call me, I keep repeating “manager” and they hang up pretty quickly. Or, I start talking about how my home boy Trump is gonna build the big, beautiful wall. They haven’t called me in weeks.

Velva, I have a samsung Android. Go to settings, then sounds and notifications, tap do not disturb. Only callers in your contact list will ring thru but all can go to voicemail if the caller chooses to do so. Pretty extreme but being retired, I really don't give a shit if most people can't get in touch with me anyway.

I didn’t know you could set your phone to recognize only your contact list. Trouble with that is that you could easily miss important calls. I suppose spam detector tech stuff aren’t perfect either.
those #&&$#&*&& robocalls drive me nuts. Is there a National do not call list or something similar?

You can set an iPhone to "Do Not Disturb" as well. there are ways to allow calls to come through, during certain times of the day, or from callers in your favorites or contacts. Similarly, you can set it so if someone calls twice within three minutes, their call goes through.

Ultimately, you can tune out at least some of the robo-calls.

But then again, their motto must be "Vee haff vays…"

When I don't hear a voice immediately after I answer a call, I hang up. Robocalls always seem to have that momentary delay. The number of robocalls I get has been greatly diminished as of late.

I've signed up for the national do not call list several times and it doesn't matter. For some reason my calls have gone down to 1 or 2 a week. It was 3-5 times a day in the winter/early spring. I answer the phone, listen for a couple seconds if no one talks I just hang up. Sometimes the robo voice comes on about a credit card.... yep not a real call. Then others are real people and I F with them. "Can you hear me? I don't know can you hear me?"

Used to be I was getting 2-3 robo calls daily from the same area code as my phone. I'd block every one. They must have changed something, because now I'm getting them from EVERYWHERE: Oregon, New York, Utah...the list goes on. Still ignore the call and block the number. I must have 500 blocked numbers by now.

If you answer them and even just hang up, you will continue to get them, they ID active phone numbers and then your number gets distributed around to all the d-bags via the dark web or whatever.
Best thing to do is not answer numbers you don't recognize and block ones that call multiple times. They will drop significantly.

I recently added a free app (android) called Mr. Number. It not only gives you the name and location of the phone number calling, but you can also add a robo-call to the spam folder and that phone number will no longer ring on your phone. Hey, it's free and helps with less calls. I can't do the 'only in the contact list' because I have too many people that contact me for other reasons where I can't screen them out like that.

I use a free app called "Hiya" they screen all calls from general spam,IRS,and many more,if one should slip thru you report it spam and block the call,if I don't recognize the phone# coming in and no message is left I block the call, one can also unblock calls as well.

Has anyone else had the robo calls pick up recently? I am now getting 3-5 a day. Worst is in the last week I have had 2 at 4:47 AM & 4:48 AM (both from Topeka Kansas). Those have pissed me off. I have been adding numbers to the auto reject list and they keep coming.

Yep. And they just use whatever numbers they want to. Most times it’s a local cell number.
